Baby Shower and Monday Appt Update!

THE SHOWER!

Sunday was such an amazing day! I watched the weather closely in the morning and when it said there was a chance of showers, I hoped they were only referring to mine! My wish came true ~ I don't think there was a cloud in the sky all day. I think there were even a few who got a sunburn!

The food was delicious, the gifts were MORE than generous, and the guests were my favorite part of the whole day. It was so nice to catch up with family and friends after being cooped up in the house for 6 weeks! Thank you to everyone who came!

Oh, by the way ~ did you enjoy the cake??? haha! I have to laugh and share this with all of you. Lana spent a small fortune, I'm sure, on the best baby shower cakes I have ever seen. I'll post a picture when I have a minute. But since it was rather warm out, Lan and Hans decided to put them in the basement to keep cool. You probably know where I'm headed with this! Later on that night, I asked Rose, Hans' mom, if she enjoyed the cake. We both looked at each other for a minute and realized the cake was never put out! Oh no!

So, we nearly ate one cake that night between the 5 of us who were still here. And we decided to freeze the 2nd cake. When the babies arrive, we're going to invite you all back to celebrate them and enjoy some cake! It is way too cute to go to waste.


MONDAY'S APPT!

I was so nervous going to today's appt. I thought for sure they were going to tell me that my cervix was shorter than last week. Rose came with us and I said to her and Hans that I had a really bad feeling about today.

My name was called by our favorite ultrasound tech, Melanie. She's been doing my ultrasounds on a weekly basis. She's a sweetheart. She surprised us today and brought out the 4D wand! Oh my goodness. We got to see the most amazing pictures of our babies!! Our baby girl cooperated and let us see her pretty clearly. But our baby boy was not so cooperative! We left there with great pictures of her little face, and a wonderful picture of his BUTT!! Yes, you read that correctly. We have a 4D picture of our son's rump. We all got a good laugh!

So, the start of our appt. was wonderful. Melanie left to go get the doctor, and I prepared for my cervix check...

GREAT NEWS!! Last week I measured 1.5cm and this week I measured 2cm!! Thank the Lord! Dr. M said that it's not textbook for the cervix to actually increase in length, but when he sees it, it proves to him that his patient is doing what she's supposed to be doing... nothing.

Our next appt. is one week from today on June 9th ~ Hans' birthday!
